Term Definition
YAG(Nd:YAG - Neodynium Doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet) A type of laser used, due to a shorter infrared wavelength, to engrave on bare metals and other materials In the awards industries, YAG lasers are used for engraving on pens, knives, maglites, etc. In addition, they are used for many industrial and medical parts marking applications.
 
Z-AxisRefers to the up and down motion of the engraving table. This can be adjusted to accommodate different size pieces and different engraving depths.
