True 3D Engraving can be obtained with a LASER engraving system by using task specific 3D software. www.type3.com or by calling the company at 770-717-1122. Keep in mind, that even with the right software and right graphic artist, creating true 3 D images for your laser engraver can be labor intensive and cost prohibitive for many jobs Because of this, many engravers will use what has traditionally been referred to as the rubber stamp driver( may now be called something different, depending on your system) now standard with most laser engraving systems. Whether using this feature to create a rubber stamp or to create a 3 dimensional “look” on other products, it is a process that is fairly easy to accomplish. The driver will allow you to set the image in a manner that can be sent to the engraver and engraved with “shoulders’ which will give you a 3D “look”. You will want to follow the directions precisely as laid out in your manual as machines may vary in how this process is achieved. You can use this feature to make one product at a time or multiples. The process can be used to augment plaques and other awards, signage, and unique gift and craft items.
