When you have a piece of "smoked acrylic" or a piece of acrylic that has the back painted, all you have to do is reverse your artwork in CorelDraw (see the "mirror" command) and engrave it on the back.  The image will engrave through the painted or black part and leave a frosted look.  I hope this is what you intended to do.
